12:30pm Retriever Group (Retrievers & HPRs) – Intermediate Level

This welcoming, ad hoc training group is perfect for retrievers and hunt-point-retrieve breeds (HPRs) with a reliable retrieve, recall, and stop cue, who are confident working in varied environments.

You’ll be joining a mix of regular clients and new faces, all looking to build and maintain their dogs’ gundog skills in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. These sessions are booked individually, so there’s no need to commit to a block of dates.

We’ll be working on marking, memory retrieves, handling at distance, and delivery – using a variety of equipment, including dummy launchers. Cold game may also be included depending on the group and training focus for the day.

Shot confidence: Dogs should be comfortable around shot, but we can support dogs who are still building confidence. Shot will not be introduced during a dog’s first session. If your dog hasn’t been exposed to shot before, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Session length: These sessions run for three and a half hours, starting at 12:30pm. While you're welcome to stay for the full duration, there’s no pressure – the extended time allows for a calm training pace, with opportunities for dogs to settle, observe, and self-regulate between exercises.

Location: Usually held at Bitchet Green, though the venue may occasionally change depending on training goals or field conditions. We’ll confirm the exact location closer to the date.

Please come prepared with a snack and a drink for yourself, along with anything your dog might need to stay comfortable and relaxed throughout the session.
